Ingredients
For the meatballs:
- 1 lb. ground beef
- ½ cup breadcrumbs
- ⅓ cup onion, finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon green onions, finely chopped (plus more for garnish)
- 1 egg
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- ½ tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
For the honey garlic sauce:
- ¼ cup rice vinegar
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons liquid honey
- 1 tablespoon garlic, minced
- ½ tablespoon cornstarch (or flour)
- 2 tablespoons water
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
- Mix together the meatball ingredients.
- Place a sheet of parchment paper on a baking sheet and spay with olive oil.
- Roll meatballs into approx. 1.5 inch balls and place on prepared baking tray.
- Bake for about 15 minutes or until cooked all the way through.
- Mix together the ingredients for the sauce.
- In a shallow pan, heat sauce for 3-4 minutes or until desired consistency.
- When both meat balls and sauce are done, toss together and serve over rice.
